About
Psychotherapy, if done well, provides participants with the gift of self-understanding. That self understanding, I have found, comes from the experience of being listened to and understood by a sensitive and knowledgeable therapist. But in addition, psychotherapy needs to practically address problems. I have extensive training in contemporary psychodynamic therapy approaches, which allows me to help patients understand themselves more deeply; often this produces profound changes. But when problems require practical techniques, I integrate aspects of cognitive-behavioral, family systems, and humanistic approaches, including aspects of ACT, DBT and other IFS.
I work with individuals, families, children and couples. In addition, I have a great deal of experience working with families moving through high conflict divorces.
I have helped families by serving as a parent-facilitator, therapist, and custody evaluator.
