Dr. Perri Jacobs
LPC

I have over 30 years of experience in outpatient and inpatient treatment of mental health and addictive disease. I have traveled around the country providing consultation to psychiatric hospitals and treatment centers. I currently teach continuing education to therapists throughout the US.

I hold a bachelors degree in Art with a minor in Psychology from the University of North Alabama; a masters degree in Counseling Psychology from Alabama A&M University; and, a doctorate in Human Development Counseling from Vanderbilt University. My therapeutic approach employs techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy, EMDR, motivational interviewing, and solution focused therapy.

It is my belief that we all hold the keys to unlocking and championing our inner struggles, however sometimes we need assistance, guidance, and direction in doing so. I have worked extensively with trauma and anxiety and believe that many of us will suffer trauma at some point in our lives. I work with trauma resulting from abuse (verbal, emotional, physical, sexual, etc.), and anxiety (PTSD, panic attacks, generalized anxiety, stress, etc.).
