About

Hi, my name is Olga Gabriela Martinez. I received my education and training from Azusa Pacific University. I obtained a Master's degree in Family Counseling and a Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology. I am fluent in Spanish and have worked extensively with many cultural backgrounds. My work includes working with individuals, couples, and families. My approach I utilize a family systems conceptual framework and at the same time utilize a cognitive behavioral approach to guide my interventions. By identifying what thoughts are guiding our feelings and our behaviors, we are able to reach a place of healing for any conflict one may be experiencing. My focus My areas of expertise are depression, anxiety, and trauma-related struggles. I have a special interest in women's issues and have worked extensively with women and men of different backgrounds. I am a Christian and have a special interest in the integration of faith in my treatment. I believe in helping clients identify their value system and recognizing if it is congruent with the way they are making decisions. My communication style I provide a safe, nurturing, non-judgmental, accepting environment. I often utilize humor to help normalize pain and help them emphasize our humanity. I respect and I am attuned to client's specific needs. My journey to therapy I have known I wanted to be a therapist since I was a young child. I love being given the opportunity to be an instrument of healing. It is an honor and a great responsibility to be able to have the privilege to share people's innermost secrets and be trusted with them. It is an amazing experience to be able to sit and share someone's pain and give them the hope that healing can and will occur if they make the decision to heal. My goals for you I collaborate with clients and help them identify their goals according to their specific needs. We explore how they would be able to see progress when healing is attained.
