I work with clients to help them live their valued life using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness skills. Change is constant and is part of life. With changes, comes stress and anxiety. I focus on teaching my clients coping tools so they are able to respond in a way that is productive and in their control, rather than react, leading to a spiral of further stress and anxiety. I also work with clients struggling with Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMAD), postpartum depression and anxiety. In addition, I am also trained as a Cognitive Behavior Therapist for Insomnia (CBT-I). ACT is a third wave behavior therapy where the focus is on changing our perception by changing our behavior rather than thoughts; because thoughts and emotions are automatic and therefore cannot be changed. Mindfulness is being able to be in the moment, non-judgmentally (Jon Kabat-Zinn) I specialize in working with anxiety disorders for all age groups. My new location in Naperville will be offering groups for children, adolescents, and women. The emphasis is on teaching coping skills to manage stress and anxiety.
