About
My approach to therapy is based on each individual’s inner strength and resources, and resiliency to everyday stress and adversities that life tends to present. I focus on practical applications drawn from various theories as a means to provide each individual with the most meaningful treatment for healing and change. One of the most empowering and healing methods I use in my psychotherapy is creating a caring, collaborative relationship built on mutual trust and respect, providing a safe environment free from judgment, and support through active listening and empathy. This established relationship enables you and me to talk openly, explore current and past experiences, and process any thoughts and feelings to foster insight, healing, and personal growth. Education I have a PsyD. in Clinical Psychology (9-2011), a Masters in Clinical Psychology and Masters in Counseling, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC #19708) and LPC- Supervisor for LPC Interns seeking their license to practice. I am trained in evidence-based treatment modalities such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), and Mindfulness and Solution Focused Therapy. I am a Certified Anger and Depression Management Specialist and in May 2021 received my Critical Incident Stress Management certification. I am an ally of LGBTQIA.
