About

Hello, I am Dr. Melissa E. Garrett-Moultrie. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas and Pennsylvania with over 21 years of experience working as a Psychotherapist and Behavioral Specialist Consultant. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, Bipolar, relationship issues, parenting issues, grief and loss, gender identity, OCD, and ADHD. I also helped many people who have experienced sexual and physical trauma or emotional abuse. My counseling style is warm, direct, and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I do not believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, existential, and rational-emotive counseling. I will tailor your treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. I am retired military, and I have interacted with people from a mixture of cultural and ethnic backgrounds. That is something I consider in therapy with others as this is very important as we look at beliefs, values, and behavior. It takes courage to pursue for a more fulfilling and happier life. I am proud of you for taking the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support, to encourage, and to empower you on that journey. You can also schedule a video session with me using the Scheduler. The days/times you see are when I am available for a session, so feel free to select any slot there that works for you. I look forward to working with you!
