I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who is compassionate and caring and who provides unconditional positive regard and respect with all of my clients. I work with individuals and couples, focusing on adolescents and adults. My approach is eclectic, drawing from a variety of modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy, reality therapy, and solution-focused methods, all the while meeting my clients where they find themselves in their life’s journey at the present time. Over the course of my career, I have worked in outpatient, inpatient, and in educational environments, including community settings, hospitals, nursing and rehabilitation centers, private practices, colleges, and universities. My primary professional roles in these settings have included that of counselor, consultant, case manager, mentor, therapist, social worker, supervisor, college professor, and faculty adviser. My areas of expertise include working with clients struggling with anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, grief and loss, substance abuse, and trauma. Critical life transition issues that are often addressed in counseling can include, among others, career/professional issues, relationship challenges, academic choices, and loss. Some of my most effective work happens when working with clients who find themselves stuck during critical transitions in their lives. I work actively with each of my clients as they explore various options unique to them and they ultimately experience transformative personal growth through the counseling process.
