About
"Coming to therapy is a choice of courage and I understand that courage does not operate without some fear. I am so grateful you have chosen this space. I have worked in the mental and emotional health field for over 20 years, and my expertise is related to working with individuals who experience hardships such as abuse (i.e., Sexual, spiritual, racism-related), life adjustments/changes, relationship problems (i.e., mother/daughter, siblings, friendships, romantic), codependency, and as well as symptoms of depression, anxiety, mood disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder. I specialize in working with youth and women with trauma, emotional issues, and post-traumatic growth. My therapeutic style is welcoming and interactive. I believe that everyone has strengths and deserves to be treated with respect, dignity, sensitivity, and compassion. My approach includes cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, trauma-informed therapy and person-centered counseling. I believe that my clients are the experts in their lives and leaders in their recovery, while I assist and guide you through a reflective process to unlock how the past could be impacting your present life, interpersonal relationships, and healing. I will tailor our work together to meet your individual needs and support the forward movement at your pace that can allow you to show up each day as your best and truest self. My focus is to inspire you to discover your authentic voice, honor it, which may have been lost or misplaced through life’s traumas and circumstances, and to empower you to trust your vision and use your power to heal the inner child and reclaim life on their terms. It takes courage to seek change and take steps to bring a life of fulfillment and joy. If you are ready to take that step; I am here to support you on this journey as your counselor. I look forward to working with you!"
