Lindsey earned her Ph.D. from George Washington University in Counseling. She has been a licensed clinical mental health therapist, certified rehabilitation counselor, and mental conditioning coach for over a decade. She specialized in trauma and suicide prevention within the military and has also worked in a variety of settings, including university-counseling centers, inpatient and outpatient psychiatric hospitals, and college and high schools. Her interests include grief, loss and bereavement issues, adolescence, transitional issues, athletes, supervision, and veteran issues. Lindsey utilizes an integrative approach, however, primarily subscribes to cognitive behavior stress therapy. She believes in letting the client guide the session but also in providing a space to provide feedback and guidance with the ultimate goal of providing additional perspectives to clients, allowing them to be their own experts and supplying concrete and tangible action steps to assist in moving through difficult situations. Dr. Mitchell is a former NCAA athlete and is interested in helping individuals develop competitive insight through mind and body.
