Hi there, I'm Lauren! Dr. Lauren D. Pitts-Bounds is Licensed Couple, Marriage & Family Therapist and Life Coach providing services to individuals, couples, families, groups and teams including scholar and professional athletes. My approach Dr. Pitts' approach to therapy is trauma-informed, integrative, collaborative, biopsychosocial methodologies including but not limited to systemic, strength-based, holistic and solution-focused. My focus Dr. Pitts has a proven track record of promoting a stronger, healthier sense of self with increased overall wellness among individuals, couples and families relating to relationship conflicts, family conflict, premarital preparation, mental performance as well as personal and professional development across all domains. My communication style Dr. Pitts uses a thought-provoking, direct and at times humorous communication style while meeting each client in a place of common humanity that is free of judgment and criticism. Dr. Pitts holds her clients accountable for contributing to their healing journey and remains committed to creating a safe space for client's to feel comfortable being vulnerable, transparent and completely honest with themselves and her. My journey to mental healthcare I am a firsthand witness of the multi-generational, systemic loss and devastation caused to families because of domestic violence, mental illness, substance abuse, gun violence, poverty, and the overall breakdown of the nuclear family. My tumultuous life serves as a compass guiding me to turn the adversities of my life into steppingstones for others. My goals for you Dr. Pitts' approach to goal setting is client centered and collaborative. My first session with you During the first session, Dr. Pitts explains her approach to the therapeutic process and relationship and addresses any questions the client(s) may have. Dr. Pitts focuses on establishing rapport with the client to build a strong therapeutic alliance.
