I am originally from IL but left the Midwest for a career in the military. I spent approximately nine years active duty in the Air Force and upon transition to civilian life, completed my Bachelor of Science in Psychology. I later earned two master's degrees in Psychological Counseling from Teachers College, Columbia University and completed the Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology at the University of Denver - Graduate School of Professional Psychology. I have had the privilege of treating clients from diverse backgrounds and have worked with clients in community mental health centers, college counseling centers, and correctional institutions. While my theoretical orientation is eclectic, I lean more toward REBT (Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy) and Person-Centered approaches.

I help clients identify unhelpful thinking patterns, process trauma, set and maintain boundaries, move through the grieving process, develop and master coping skills, and gain insight into how past experiences influence current functioning/behaviors. I value the transformative nature of a strong therapeutic relationship and am proficient in providing individual and group therapy.

In therapy, I am empathetic, compassionate, direct, non-judgmental, and personable. I strive to create a safe space for clients to begin healing. I believe at various times in our lives we all have to "start somewhere." I would be honored if you chose to start with me.
