I have over 20 years of clinical experience and was a Psychologist and Officer in the Navy. I am direct, down to earth, warm, professional, genuine, thorough, humorous, and patient. As a client you will know very quickly whether we are a good match. I have skills and training to manage cognitive, emotional, and physiological mental health symptoms, but the most important change element is the therapeutic relationship and trust. What is your approach to therapy? My approach starts with getting to know you (not just your problems). This may include a more data driven assessment such as brain mapping (QEEG) mind , physical stress assessment (psychophysiological profile) body , or formal psychological assessment e motions/behaviors . I understand stress physiology, neurodiversity, neurolinguistics, CBT, and family systems psychology. I intuitively consider options from 360 degrees, and am thoughtful about treatment recommendations. What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you? My clients appreciate the feeling of being in good hands while also being part of the process. My approach can range from directive (think "Navy Lieutenant") to just being present and listening. So few people have a place to be heard... it's nice to- just be- sometimes. Biofeedback and neurofeedback are less interactive/more technically driven. Counseling is more intense and personal. The general goal is to feel better at the end of a visit than you did in the beginning.
