About
Hi there, I'm Karen! Hello my name is Karen Kaiser, I'm a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. I have worked in behavioral health since 1986, and believe in a client-centered approach. I view my role as a therapist not as an expert dictating your path, but as a guide accompanying you on your journey towards healing and self-discovery. I believe that each individual holds the key to their own well-being; my job is to support you in unlocking your inherent potential and navigating the challenges that arise along the way. My approach In my practice, I integrate two evidence-based therapeutic approaches: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). By combining EMDR and CBT, I am able to offer a comprehensive therapeutic experience to meet the unique needs and goals of each client. My focus I specialize in working with adults aged 18 and over who are navigating the complexities of mood disorders, the impact of childhood trauma and abuse, challenges related to low self-esteem, and the psychological aspects of living with chronic illness. My practice is dedicated to providing a safe supportive, and confidential space where individuals can explore their experiences, understand the roots of their struggles, and embark on a healing journey. My communication style In my practice, I adopt a tone of empowerment, focusing on amplifying each client's inner strengths and capacities. I believe in empowering individuals to take charge of their healing journey by fostering an environment of encouragement, self-reflection, and support. My journey to mental healthcare My path to becoming a therapist was influenced by my own healing journey through therapy. Being a therapist provides me with a sense of purpose that I find rewarding. My goals for you From the very first session, I prioritize setting clear, personalized goals with each client, asking directly what they hope to accomplish through therapy.
