About
My approach to treatment is based in principles of Cognitive Behavior Therapy. I am drawn to this approach because it provides a clear structure for the process of therapy that is accessible to clients from diverse backgrounds. This approach is also collaborative and allows clients to be active participants in treatment. I believe that when clients take an active role in therapy, they are empowered and feel hopeful about the future. I also believe that helpful therapy starts with a healthy therapeutic relationship. I strive to provide an environment where clients can express their thoughts, feelings, and concerns by listening to their experiences without judgement. I also invite clients to share their perceptions of how well treatment is working and whether changes in the treatment plan are needed. I believe that attending to the therapeutic relationship in this way establishes a relationship of trust and safety.
