I obtained a Master’s and Doctoral degree in clinical psychology and completed training at Jackson Memorial Hospital with a focus on providing psychology services to medically-compromised patients. I am licensed in the state of Florida and have several years of experience in providing individual therapy in both English and Spanish to adults and older adults who have struggled with a variety of mental health issues. What is your approach to therapy? How one thinks about themselves, others, and the world can influence feelings, provoke physical symptoms and impact behavior. A Cognitive-Behavioral approach to therapy helps to treat problems and improve mood by identifying, challenging, and changing dysfunctional thoughts and beliefs. My approach for all of my clients is to help them identify problem areas, collaboratively develop goals that are measurable and obtainable and devise a treatment plan within a reasonable time frame. What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you? After our first session, you should have a clearer picture of your identified problems areas, realistic goals of therapy, and education about the approach used for therapy that will help in reaching those goals. Ultimately, the therapy should assist with facilitating positive changes in emotional/social functioning and improvement in quality of life.
