Hi! Thank you for reviewing my profile. I am an Iowa State Licensed Mental Health Counselor/Therapist, I have been since 2003. Wow! 17 years of assisting others. When you reach out to me; I do not judge, I do not shame. I am accepting and you are telling me that you require guidance, suggestions, and direction for the concern you currently have in your life. I have been in social services for the last 30 years; my experience includes serving as an officer in the USA Army, working with youth in the ministry (Youth for Christ USA),patrolling streets as a law enforcement officer, working as a case manager for sexually abused kids, and wayward misguided youth in an optional educational school setting. I have never met a bad kid, simply misguided. I received my license in 2003 and practiced clinically for 8 years, until I went into administration. I have written policies implementing practicing psychosocial outpatient services, and most recently provided direct care for clients in crisis. Crisis included anxiety, depression, anger, conflict, emotional distress, and many other highly active amygdala concerns.

I have a doctorate in Psychotherapy Counseling Education (EdD) and a Masters in Counseling Education (MS Ed). I have been Nationally Certified as a Counselor, I have been Professionally recognized from the Board of Professional Counselors, but now I simply obtain the license of a Mental Health Counselor. I want to serve you, and this license is that opportunity. I love working with individuals: youth, parents, elderly, couples, marriage concerns. I use Nurture Heart Approach, sharing ways to create positive relationships. I also practice Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, DBT, and emotional awareness. I look forward assisting you find your way, I will be honest, connecting, and humorous.
