About

Welcome! My name is Heidi, and I have been a licensed professional counselor in the state of Wyoming for 15 years. I enjoy working with clients of all ages and backgrounds and have worked in both a residential treatment facility for youth ages 6-18 and a long-term care facility with older adults. While I have worked with clients on a wide range of issues, I do have some specific areas of focus. I am a military spouse and the wife of a first responder. I have training and experience serving military families addressing issues related to deployment, reintegration, stress management, communication, PTSD, and traumatic brain injury. I have provided Dialectical Behavioral therapy (DBT) to individuals coping with self-harm in individual and group settings, and I have considerable experience working with adolescents and young adults.

I have a strong belief that all people, their experiences, and their voices are valid and deserving of being heard. My approach to therapy combines a person-centered approach with concrete skills like cognitive-behavioral work and mindfulness and relaxation work. After receiving my master's degree in Community Counseling from Chadron State College, I have worked in a variety of settings including teaching college classes. As an educator, I also believe in psychoeducation and helping others reach their true and full potential.

I would describe myself as accepting and genuine. I like to interact with clients honestly, openly, and with some humor. I look forward to getting to know more about you and your goals. I'd like to support you in moving through the challenges you are facing and will assist you in identifying and solving problems and setting a clear path moving forward.

I would be honored to work with you!
