About
My name is H Anna Garcia (I go by Anna), PsyD, LMFT. I am a doctorate level psychotherapist and have been in the behavioral health services field for over 20 years. I have had many different roles in our field, including private practice, community mental health and addiction services, working as an administrator in behavioral health systems of all kinds, for Children, Teens, Transitional Age Youth, Adults, and Older Adults, and am comfortable with all populations. I am a generalist, work with everyday life problems as well as serious mental health and addiction issues. I have a strength based approach, solution focused, with a psychodynamic perspective — working to help people who come in for help to feel better and increase the quality of their lives and happiness as soon as possible. It’s important to have clarity about what a person coming in for care wants and needs from the therapeutic treatment and agreements reached about “smart goals” of care. The connectedness/alliance that emerges from a therapeutic relationship is the foundation for generating growth. Each human being has their own unique answers through self discovery. My role as therapist is as facilitator, coach, and witness. Along the way, I do provide pointers, guideposts, suggestions!
