About
Congratulations. You have taken the first step on the road to healing by reaching out and looking for help. The fact that you are here and looking for a therapist means you’ve come to a point in your life where you know you need assistance on your journey towards being a more complete you. I believe it is the role of a therapist to walk with a person as they try to overcome the obstacles they face, to help them continue to move forward and grow in to who they want to be. As a brother and then a priest in the Catholic Church, I walked with people as they moved through many transitions in their lives – births and deaths, weddings and divorces, celebrations and tragedies. As a marriage and family therapist I have accompanied people through grief and loss, stress and anxiety, dealing with the past and facing what the future might hold. As a trained EMDR therapist, I have travelled the road of past abuses and recent traumas with my clients, and helped them master the events that have prevented them from being who they were meant be become. My role is to provide respect, honesty, feedback and direction as I join you along the road and accompany you until you’re ready to move on and leave me behind. About me: I am licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in California. I have masters’ degrees in catholic theology and counseling psychology, as well as a doctorate in clinical psychology. In addition I am also a trained EMDR therapist. As a counselor, I have worked as a foster family social worker, a school counselor, a county mental health therapist, and the director of a program for high-functioning autistic-spectrum young adults. I employ a combination of therapeutic approaches including interpersonal, client-centered, behavioral, cognitive, solution-focused and motivational modalities, as well as elements of EMDR where it seems useful.
