Hi, my name is Denise Lennon and I have been a mental health counselor for twenty-one years. I have a doctorate in Counseling Psychology and I am licensed in New York state as a Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). I have worked with people who experience mild and severe mental health illnesses. This includes but is not limited to, adjustment disorders, depression disorders, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, substance abuse disorders, stress management, and anger management issues.

I became a counselor because I have a passion for people and the human conditions. I have always had a sensitivity to people who were hurting, treated with disregard, or unfairly. I am a compassionate person and this comes across during the counseling process. Moreover, I encourage individuals to focus on their strengths while challenging them to push past their fears. I think that it is important to be sincere, honest, empathetic, and nonjudgmental so that a trusting therapeutic relationship can be established. My goal as a counselor is to guide and support people as they move through the healing process.

My preferred method of therapy is cognitive behavioral-based therapy, person-centered therapy, and mindfulness. I would be honored to work with you as you journey through the healing process.
