My name is Debi Luczywek and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), based in Southern California. I received my doctorate in 2007 in Psychology and I have been practicing ever since. My specialty is working with clients who experience anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and grief. My approach I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well as integrating other methods to help the client improve and feel better. My goal is to build a supportive environment to help the client feel safe and comfortable which allows for a strong therapeutic relationship. My focus I work with clients to help them obtain and develop practical strategies that foster greater balance in their everyday lives. I will provide treatment to relieve symptoms leading to a greater sense of well-being and help build strength so you can reach their most important goals and aspirations. My communication style I am very personable and kind. I help clients look at things in their lives that may be uncomfortable, yet with my support and non-judgment, I help my clients become aware of thoughts and behaviors that may be difficult to understand on their own. My journey to mental healthcare I was interested in human behavior my whole life. When I was young I saw a movie called "Sybil" 13 times. I was drawn to the character's pain and suffering of her many personalities. Even though I did not choose psychology in my early career. Eventually, life experiences led me to my passion for the healing arts which I am very proud to be part of. Being a therapist is an honor that allows me to provide a safe place for clients to reveal the most sacred things about themselves in order to heal. My goals for you Goal setting in the therapeutic relationship is very important. To begin, building trust between client and therapist is the key. I help the client feel comfortable, so the client can find hope in their situations.
