Education and prevention work; we do have remarkable transformations in our lives when we learn, apply, and follow through on simple principles that are freely available to us, but that we may not be aware of, see, or remember. Our focus is based on the experience that many of our perceptions, thinking patterns, and corresponding feelings are (paradoxically) what cause or generate much of our own psychic pain and suffering. Learning how and why this may be so is to unlock a great mystery. Gaining knowledge of how our perceptions arise, evolve into our beliefs, reactions, and behavior patterns is “therapeutic,” and can open new ways of being in the world.

My professional experience over the last 25 years includes working as a behavioral health provider, healthcare consultant, professor, and executive. Clinically, my work ranges through assessment, forensic evaluation, education, and prevention strategies across counseling, and training services for individuals, groups, and organizations. Academically, my appointments have included professorships in both Community and Clinical Psychology, and applied research publications in behavioral healthcare involving patient satisfaction and healing factors, barriers to healing and recovery, designing outcome measurements, and the use of technology in clinical environments.
