I believe that every person holds the power and resources necessary to find happiness. As a trans woman I understand both the external and the internal forces that create self-doubt and spike fear—the loneliness, the separateness, and the tailspin of uncertainty. I know, too, from professional and personal experience that self-acceptance and happiness are within everyone. Science upholds this belief, telling us that those who seek help benefit from it. For me this is not a theory, but the product of experience. I favor mindful-based approaches, but I also have practice experience with cognitive behavioral therapy and other evidenced-based methods. I work well with people challenged not only by anxiety, depression, trauma (PTSD), but also with those in challenging relationships, gender issues, especially those from LGBTQ and military veteran populations. I welcome all those who seek an empathic, supportive, and nonjudgmental collaborator to a better, more fulfilling and satisfying life.
