About

Hello to all viewing my profile! I prefer to think of it as a first step towards my possibly helping you cope with life and reach your goals more effectively. I'm Cindy K. Stewart-Sampson, Ph.D, LCSW, and have been employed as a School Social Worker since 1985. I've served ages PK-Adult Education. I also taught college and adult education on a part-time basis in the areas of : Sociology, Social Work, Human Services, Stress Management, and Assertiveness Training. I have experience in preparing home studies for international adoptions, home health care in the area of Social Work, outpatient mental health counseling, Psychiatric Inpatient Social Work, and served as a consultant in the area of Disability Qualifications in the state of Indiana.

I have intense experience in preparing psycho-social evaluations for those entering or being served in Special Education Services. I've done dropout and suicide prevention training within school systems. My Christian faith is my guiding force in life although I do not impose my views on anyone. I feel most effective in assisting in bereavement counseling and grief awareness as I am the bereaved mother of 2 children. I've spoken and written about grief awareness. I also feel versed in dealing with the complexities of being a special needs parent due to my daughter having endured a chromosome disorder. I've dealt with varying exceptionalities with students ages 0- adult throughout my 35 years as a school social worker as well as dealing with foster care students. Most of all, I strive to make the world a better place by assisting in the areas where I am most helpful and truly believe in the "Each One Reach One," philosophy. I don't view life as ever becoming perfect but I do believe that we can make it more meaningful despite our hardships; some of which exist throughout life. I have an impulsive Yorkie Dog and I believe in Pet Therapy! I was given her within a couple of months of losing my daughter; and named her "Hope," believing that she can be one of the ingredients of the world which will give me the hope to go on. I'd like to provide you with hope as well. Best to all!
