Hello, my name is Dr. Christopher Garrison, and thank you for checking out my profile! Choosing a therapist is an important decision and one which should not be lightly taken. Therefore, I hope the following information about me helps. I am a doctorate-trained Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC). I have a doctorate and a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology. I also have a second doctorate, a Ph.D in Clinical Psychoanalysis. Additionally, I am in a post-doctorate certificate training program in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. Moreover, I have several clinical national board certifications and diplomate credentials in co-occurring, clinical, and trauma counseling.

As for my clinical experience, I have 36 years of post-graduate experience treating children, adolescents, and adults, including couples. counseling. I specialize in working with adults who are struggling with anxiety/pain attacks, impaired coping skills, unresolved childhood pain, relationship issues, heartache, grief, sadness, trauma-related symptoms, and LGBTQ issues. To be honest with you, I work best with those who are invested in change. The bottom line is I love what I do, and I cannot imagine doing anything else but supporting people to change and grow.

My therapeutic approach is supportive, respectful, and solution-focused. My primary clinical orientation is psychodynamic. In order to move you forward with your goals, occasionally “old” and yet, familiar patterns of thinking, feeling, and behavior may need to be identified and worked through. The bottom line is for you to resolve your issues so you may experience fewer conflicts in your life.
