Therapy can be inspiring, transformative, challenging, and reflective. I very much enjoy being a therapist; I characterize my approach as respectful, warm, and collaborative. I pay careful attention to client goals and provide information on available treatment options. In my nearly 20 years of study, research, and clinical training in psychology I have been fortunate to work extensively with several specialty areas, including: trauma and PTSD, depression and anxiety, grief and loss, adjustment to illness, and interpersonal difficulties. I provide individual and couples therapy to adults. I have extensive experience working with Veteran and military populations, people of color, and women. I deliver culturally informed and empowerment based care. Regarding the treatment process, we’ll talk about your concerns and understand your challenges and needs, work together to develop a plan by reviewing possible approaches, implement treatment interventions, then check-in to make confirm we’re on the right track or change course. Recommendations for treatments may vary but will include a balance based on the best evidence currently available and personal preference of clients.
