Hello! Thank you for taking the time to learn about me as you consider utilizing Find A Therapist. Your journey toward wellness is important, and you deserve to have the therapist that is your best fit. I hope that this description of me is helpful to you.

I am Dr. César Gallegos, a Clinical Psychologist licensed in California and can only practice in my state . If you are currently living outside of California, I cannot work with you. I am sorry if you were considering working with me and you do not live in California.

This is an outline of my career path:

1987 - Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Princeton University
1989 - Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology, University of California at Santa Barbara
1991 - Credential in School Psychology, University of California at Santa Barbara
2013 - Doctorate (PhD) in Clinical Psychology, California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant University

Throughout the years, I have worked with many, many individuals from diverse backgrounds and a wide range of ages. I have been blessed to learn a variety of treatment modalities and interventions. Some of these include Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, Bowenian Therapy, Solutions-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness, and meditation. I also integrate music, movement, and organizational techniques as needed.

Folks have sought my help for issues such as stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, learning difficulties, shyness, low self-esteem, ADHD, parenting, and racial microaggressions/discrimination.

If you identify as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color), I invite you to consider working with me. I believe that culture, identity, language, and all the elements associated with being BIPOC cannot be ignored when reclaiming one's wellness and personal power. Because I am connected to my indigenous roots, I understand the healing power of drumming, chanting, sacred smoke (copal, sage, veladoras), altars, rituals, and ceremonies.
