About

I am a licensed clinical psychologist with specific expertise in treating adolescent/young adult (12-26 years) clients. I work with individuals coping with a variety of presenting problems/diagnoses, including anxiety, depression, and emerging personality disorders. In addition, I have specific expertise in gender identity and expression. I tailor evidence- and research-based treatments to meet clients' individual needs. As a therapist, I use humor, warmth, and collaboration to help clients reduce their distress, improve their functioning, and build a life worth living. Dr. Caroline C. Kaufman is a licensed adolescent and adult clinical psychologist with a small private practice. Dr. Kaufman earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology from The University of Memphis and completed her predoctoral internship/residency in Adolescent Psychology at Yale University School of Medicine/Yale-New Haven Hospital. She is a current research fellow at McLean Hospital and Harvard Medical School. Dr. Kaufman has delivered clinical services in a variety of settings, including outpatient, partial hospital, pediatric, intensive outpatient, and school settings. She has expertise providing evidence-based treatment for a variety of presenting concerns, including depression, anxiety, OCD, personality disorders, and other “problems in living.” She has specific expertise in gender identity and diversity among adolescents given her training as a Fellow at the Yale Gender Program at Yale-New Haven Hospital.
