About

Hello!

My name is Dr. Brianna Aldrich, and I am a licensed psychologist in Arizona. I am originally from Wisconsin and moved to Arizona in 2014 to complete my graduate training at Midwestern University-Glendale. In 2018, I earned my doctorate in clinical psychology and completed my post-doctoral residency in 2019. Much of my work has surrounded evaluation and treatment of various mental health disorders and concerns, including autism spectrum disorder, social skills development, cognitive delays, anger management, family conflict, behavior changes following traumatic brain injury, impulse control and hyperactivity, inattention, depression, self-esteem, anxiety, phobias and obsessive-compulsive disorder, substance use, trauma, stress reduction, and life transitions.

I strongly believe in providing my clients with a space where they feel understood and safe to express themselves. This includes using a collaborative, nonjudgmental approach with my clients, as I consider them to be the expert on their own thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, while my primary purpose is to provide support. Though I may provide my clients with evidence-based information (i.e., information based on recent research) about alternative methods to manage challenges they are experiencing, I always consult with them about whether the methods discussed sound fair and achievable to them. My clients are frequently encouraged to provide feedback regarding their thoughts and feelings about what was discussed in session, as I want to know whether my clients are perceiving treatment as helpful and if there are manners in which we can improve our therapeutic relationship.

I often use person-centered, cognitive-behavioral, dialectical behavioral, interpersonal, mindfulness, and solution-focused approaches in treatment. However, when selecting my treatment approach(es), I consider my clients’ social history, diversity factors, presenting concerns, and goals for treatment, and do not select treatment approaches that are contraindicated for my clients. I believe providing my clients with an individualized approach to treatment is the most effective way to help them be successful and achieve their goals.

I commend you for seeking support for your mental health! When life gets messy, it takes courage to seek support to help navigate the challenges you face. Therapy is hard work, and I look forward to supporting you on your journey toward improved mental health and overall well-being.

Take care,
Dr. Brianna Aldrich
