Hi there!

My name is Amirah and I am a licensed professional counselor and approved clinical supervisor for the state of Idaho. I am originally from Atlanta, GA and I came to Idaho by way of Newport, RI. I have my Master's in Holistic Counseling and I also have a certificate of advanced graduate studies in Expressive & Creative Arts. I received my Bachelor's in both Psychology and Biology with a concentration in pre-medicine from thee, yes Thee Jackson State University.

I am a traumatologist and use a trauma informed approach to provide trauma-informed counseling for clients who are experiencing crisis and trauma. I have experience working with clients who struggle with addiction and co-occurring disorders, in-home counseling with families, and adolescents in residential. Additionally, I worked with children at Head Start which sparked my initial interest in counseling.

In my free time, I spend as much time as I can with those I love, particularly my daughter Laila. I enjoy reading, traveling, exercising, and most of all I love food!
