Greetings!

Here is a little bit about me for your information. I am a board-certified art therapist, licensed mental health counselor, and certified trauma therapist with over 12 years of experience specializing in intensive trauma therapy (IOP) and art therapy. I have worked with a wide range of populations in my private practice, in educational settings, and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

My therapy style is client-centered, interactive, and above all, compassionate. I believe everyone has an authentic self (true Self) that holds their deep inner wisdom. The approaches I use all work to identify, process, and resolve thoughts, symptoms, and triggers that prevent access to this inner authentic Self. The methods I utilize include the Instinctual Trauma Response (ITR), the Rewind Technique, parts psychology (IFS), mindfulness, and somatic awareness (SE).

These tools all ENGAGE the "hidden observer" and help CREATE internal space in order to BYPASS activating the autonomic nervous system's fight/flight/freeze response. It is important in trauma work to avoid models that cause people to re-experience the trauma in the here and now while at the same time reviewing the narrative of the part of self that is holding the pain.

The therapy I offer is time-limited and is in the style of an IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program). We work in 12-session chunks and evaluate your state of being after each period.
