I am a professor of clinical social work in New York City. As a researcher, I specialize in the reasons why people commit acts of sexual and nonsexual violence. As an instructor, I teach Master’s students how to engage with clients and diagnose mental health conditions. As a psychotherapist, I specialize in experiences of trauma and the resultant shame, anger, and feeling out of control. I am licensed in the states of New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts, Illinois, and Washington. If you do not live in one of these states, I am unable to see you for psychotherapy. I do not accept insurance, although many of my clients are eligible for out-of-network reimbursement from their insurance providers. My academic research focuses on the assessment and treatment of problem sexual behaviors among youth and young adults. In my clinical practice, clients who have been victims of sexual abuse have found my experience helpful in gaining insights and healing.
