I hold a Doctorate in Educational Psychology at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. My career has been both as a clinician and program coordinator in the public and private sectors with couples, families, children, and thematic groups. I draw from cognitive behavioral therapy, family systems, and humanistic practices. I am a also certified EMDR Therapist (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). I believe the counseling process should be integrative not directive. The counselor brings their experience but so does the client. and the situation is unique on every occasion. Self-discovery and developing awareness is an amazing human achievement. Anxiety relief, understanding of others and actualization are additional benefits. My passion for my profession comes primarily from my great interest in the wonder of human beings.
