About
“What’s next” is a familiar question for me. I was a newspaper reporter and a production artist, both careers that became unviable with economic changes. People tell me things - often deep and intimate things – out of nowhere. One of my friends sarcastically said that I should be a therapist since I was doing the work anyway. Serendipity – I was in the right state of mind, open to change, ready for a new challenge, so I could “hear” that statement. Back to school I went. I was graduated with an MSW from NYU and worked in Hospice for several years. I was fascinated with Hypnotherapy’s possibilities, especially for lingering and buried trauma, so I trained for that. I sought training in Single-Session Therapy after having intense intakes with highly motivated people, who would then tell me they felt better equipped to move on by themselves. I love the flexibility and focus of it. After training with the Physicians for Human Rights, I’m also doing Immigration Psychological Evaluations as well. I’m a crazy reader – mysteries, literature, classics, paranormal romance, regular romance, history, science fiction, fantasy – whatever I can find that looks interesting or odd. I love to research things. I’m fascinated with gadgets and “outside the box” solutions. (I got tired of hard ice on the steps where the neighbors walked. Chopping ice is too strenuous – I bought a small flamethrower. Melts the ice great, and – bonus – I use it to get rid of all the weeds in my garden plot! Less work and huge results, two of my other favorite things.) I like to look on Kickstarter and Indiegogo to find interesting projects to invest in; I enjoy helping people find solutions of all kinds. I’m really interested in helping you find your solutions, too, call for a consultation.
