About

Hi, I'm Dorothea Stanley, a social work therapist who has dedicated my career to helping individuals navigate the difficult and complex process of grief and other issues facing individuals in today's world. Through innovative and effective therapeutic approaches that combine narrative therapy and expressive art therapy, as well as cognitive behavior therapy, I help clients explore their personal stories and experiences related to loss, as well as express their emotions and feelings through creative expression. I also help clients explore conflicts in relationships, both past and present, to determine meaning and assign value to choices made in their lives.

With a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by those dealing with grief, I use a client-centered approach to empower individuals to explore and process their emotions in a safe and supportive environment. My use of narrative therapy allows clients to examine and reframe their personal narratives, finding new meaning and purpose in their experiences. Meanwhile, my incorporation of expressive art therapy provides clients with a powerful outlet for self-expression and healing.

As a dedicated and compassionate therapist, I have helped individuals navigate the complexities of grief and find a path to healing and hope. My unique approach has helped clients to process their emotions, find closure, and move forward with renewed strength and resilience.

I am licensed in Ohio with 8 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with relationship issues, trauma and abuse, & coping with grief and loss of loved ones, paths not taken, and choices not made, along with other forms of grief and loss. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support & empower you in that journey.
