I am a Licensed Professional Counselor of Mental Health, Board Certified with the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC), who has been working with children & families in various roles for the past 13 years. Over the years I've had the opportunity to work as an Outpatient therapist, Assessment & Referral Counselor, Crises Assessor, Clinical Screener, Behavior Specialist Consultant, Mobile Therapist, Adjunct Teacher, Group Facilitator, Parent Educator, as well as leadership roles within the Human Service Field. All of my experiences have afforded me an understanding for some of the challenges people face with relationships, child-rearing and different life circumstances that cause an imbalance within their emotions that impact their mind, body and spirit.
My counseling approach varies based on the need of the person and is primarily from a cognitive behavioral (thought process) perspective that is person centered and strength based, setting obtainable goals with the client to decrease the level of distress and promote emotional well-being leading to change.
