My name is Donna Givens. I am a 61 y/o female who has been in the mental health field for forty years in one capacity or another and have been aLicensed Clinical Professional Counselor for several years. I earned my masters degree from the University of Illinois at Springfield and am licensed in Illinois. I have worked as an RN in an inpatient psychiatric unit and as a counselor in a substance abuse treatment facility . Other experiences I have are working in community mental health, a partial hospitalization program, a jail and a college. I am eclectic in my approach, using whatever theory/ skill I find to be most helpful for the client. Clients easily feel comfortable with me and my professional and life experiences help me to better understand my clients.
