About
Hi there, I'm Donna! I am licensed in Texas with 4 years of professional work experience. I have an associates in justice administration, a bachelor's in justice administration with a focus on human services and a minor in psychology, and a master's of arts in counseling. I have experience in helping clients with coping with addictions, trauma and abuse, and anger management. I also have experience working with coping with life changes. I have worked with all levels of addiction, Bexar County Probation, in-patient recovery, wounded transition for military members, domestic violence, and crisis intervention. My approach My concept is no one can judge another person's journey. I utilize primarily motivational interviewing and person-centered approach to getting to the core of issues because the surface is only the symptoms. My focus I work with a wide spectrum of clients with multiple layers of concerns. I have experience in helping clients with coping with addictions, trauma and abuse, and anger management. I also have experience working with coping with life changes. I have worked with all levels of addiction, Bexar County Probation, in-patient recovery, wounded transition for military members, domestic violence, and crisis intervention. My communication style I believe in a realistic approach through transparency and being authentic. I am a real person and I want to help with genuine concerns for all people. My journey to therapy I did not know what my calling was, but I was a medic and thought the natural progression was to become a nurse. The doctors felt because of my injuries that would not be a good fit for me so my school advisor suggested I switch to the Maser's program for counseling. Did not realize God closed one door to open another, but here I am and I wouldn't give it up for anything.
