About

Donald Rubish Licensed Clinical Psychologist in California PSY27432 and Colorado PSY0004157. My approach to therapy is Motivational Interviewing working as a team with my clients. My approach My approach is to identify dysfunctional patterns that contribute to your difficulties. My focus is to remove inner and outer obstacles that prevent you from reaching your goals and having a more fulfilling life. My approach is supportive, empathetic, and realistic. While Understanding the past is essential, change can only occur in the present. My focus I'm comfortable working with anyone that is interested in moving forward for a better life. Sometimes when things go wrong, we don't know exactly why. Problems at home, school, work, health issues, relationship struggles, and life transitions can all create a sense of deep disconnect. Being understood will often increase your personal satisfaction and improve your life on a deeper level. the ultimate goal of this work and my main interest is that you come to know yourself more deeply and live a more complete and satisfying, thereby raising your level of functioning and returning to or discovering a life of gratification and vitality. My communication style My therapeutic approach as mentioned above is motivational interviewing. I have a relaxed communication style. I am a senior in years and have experienced a great deal in my lifetime. I worked in Colorado with individuals and families. I have worked with sex offenders. I have counseled level-four inmates in the state prison system. I now in my private practice work with individuals, couples, and families who seek a successful outcome. My journey to therapy I started in college with Economics and then took an elective in psychology. That changed my career focus. I think we all have issues and I decided to help others with the knowledge I gained. Forty years later, I still feel the same and that is why I still have a practice.
