About

Dona is a Licensed Professional Counselor who specializes in depression, anxiety, trauma, family issues, boundaries, codependency, self-worth issues, and shame. She received her undergraduate degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Baylor University and master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Dallas Baptist University. Dona is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems Therapy and Narrative Therapy. She integrates different modalities knowing that our thoughts affect our emotions, while understanding how our family roles affect how we operate in daily life.

Dona has a special focus on working with infertility, pregnancy loss, pregnancy and post-partum issues. She believes that this is a special time where the mom-to-be and new parents need extra encouragement and support.

Having moved from Croatia to the United States during early childhood, Dona understands the difficulty in hard transitions and adapting to a new way of living. She has a passion for culture and diversity.

Dona meets people where they are socially, emotionally, spiritually and personally. She strives to create a safe environment in order to challenge people and help them grow. She has experience in working with children, adolescents, and adults in partial hospital, intensive outpatient and outpatient settings.

Dona has been married to her college sweetheart for close to a decade, has two young children and two dogs. In her free time, Dona enjoys reading and spending time with loved ones.
