Hi there, I'm Diego! My name is Diego Rodriguez Garcia. I am Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) based in Fresno, California, and working with clients statewide via telehealth. I work primarily with couples in navigating relational distress and attachment issues using Emotionally Focused Therapy, as well as with individuals to address mood and trauma-related issues utilizing Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. My approach In working with couples, I utilize Emotionally Focused Therapy to help identify and address patterns of relational distress and injury between partners, as well as drawing from the Gottman Method to help couples identify strategies to improve connection and conflict management. With individuals, I draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing as both approaches help support clients to navigate the balance between what a person is or has experienced and how they can live a more fulfilling life moving forward. My focus I find my style and approach is a good fit for couples wanting to learn how to foster increased intimacy and connection, heal and move forward from ruptured trust, and develop productive ways to navigate future conflict while keeping connected to each other. I also work with individuals that are wanting to find a way to no longer feel held back by the experiences they have gone through so that they may live a more meaningful and fulfilling life. My communication style My communication style is built on fostering a calm, curious, and intentional conversation with the clients I work with in therapy. I also believe that there are times when it may feel that "the right word" does not exist to accurately describe your experience, so you may find me trying to paint a picture along the way.
