About

Hi, I'm Diana, and I am an LCSW with 22 years experience . I have worked with adolescents and adults ages 18-70 throughout my career in a variety of settings. I have been in the role of a clinical therapist for that entire time, and in the last 7 years I have also been a program director a psychiatric facility for children, adolescents, and adults with serious mental illness. While in the position of Program Director of Inpatient Therapy Services, I continued a outpatient practice one day a week within the same agency. I have been licensed as an LCSW since 2002, and also been certified as a a Diplomate in CBT (Cognitive Behavior Therapy). I incorporate systems theory, strengths perspective, DBT, mindfulness, and client- centered psychotherapy within my practice. Some of the diagnoses that I have the most experience with are Depressive and Anxiety Disorders, Adjustment Disorders, Borderline Personality Disorder, Bi-polar Disorders, Substance Use and Co-occurring diagnosis, Attachment and Behavioral issues with teens and their families, and Family/Marital conflicts.

I truly believe that my career as a therapist has been a calling, and it has been my honor to provide therapy services to those in need. I provide a good balance of warmth, honesty, empathy, and accountability with my clients. I will start right where you are, but once we decide where you want to go, I'll be the one supporting you by teaching life and adaptive coping skills, educating about diagnosis, and holding you accountable to the goals you set. Therapy is all about knowing yourself, and I hope that you give me a chance to go on that journey with you.

Take Care, Diana M. Smith, LCSW.
