About
I received my Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice with an emphasis in Juvenile Delinquency from California State University, Sacramento, in 2006. I received my Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of San Francisco. For the last 15 years, I have worked in the non-profit setting as a therapist and in Program management. I have significant experience working with youth and young adults that struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma, and at-risk behaviors. I utilize a variety of approaches, including family systems, play therapy, mindfulness, trauma-focused cognitive-behavioral, strengths-based, solution-focused, and narrative therapy. I am trained in Triple P, Motivational Interviewing, Crisis Prevention Intervention, Trauma-Focused CBT, and Mindfulness Applications, and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. I am a bilingual/bicultural Latina that enjoys spending time with family, reading, watching movies, traveling, and most importantly, playing with my fur-baby Tucker.
