About

What should your client know about you? I am a clinical psychologist with 20+ years of experience in the field of mental health. Much of my work has been in hospital settings, from assessing neurological disorders to forensics. I have worked with a very diverse client population, from brain injury, addiction, depression, anxiety, aging challenges, combat-related PTSD, family issues, marriage challenges, to forensic patients and violence risk assessments. Although I have evaluated a variety of conditions, psychotherapy is my passion. What is your approach to therapy? I am trained in existential/humanistic psychology, which means I see my clients as equal, and that we all, as human beings, have universal needs and struggles. I meet every client with compassion, open-mindedness, and inquisitiveness. I work closely with my client to discover their strengths and preferences so we can create ways forward that best serve their goals. My professional goal is always to put myself out of business, meaning, to empower the client to no longer need me. What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you? Clients generally experience working with me as empowering, and affirming, as we partner in pursuit of their goals. Most clients report experiencing more confidence, peace, and calm after each session. Discovering strengths they often did not realize they had all along, clients tap into those inner strengths to enhance their lives.
