Hi and welcome. I believe that therapy should be a collaborative partnership between you and your therapist. Understanding trauma and its effect on a person's day to day functioning, can be a powerful tool to help those who are struggling with depression, anxiety, self-injury, addiction, and PTSD. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), I am trained in numerous trauma informed approaches and have helped many people just like you who were struggling with life stressors and their past. It is okay to ask for help - we all need it at some point.
As a dual diagnosis therapist, I specialize in trauma and addiction treatment. I have experience working with adults, children, and adolescents. All the therapeutic modalities I work in are trauma-informed, including Traumatic Incident Reduction and DBT which works wonders for those with self-injury and suicidal behaviors as well as addiction.
