I came to this profession to help people navigate the twists and turns that life sends their way. Counseling is not my first career, but I think that my life experience helps to make me a better-rounded therapist. I pursued a degree in mental health after the deaths of people close to me left me feeling hopeless, angry, and guilty. I am the mother of four grown children in their 20s and 30s, have recently become a grandmother, and have been married to the same person for 39 years. What is your approach to therapy? My approach is individual and person-centered, based on your needs and wants. I believe that you are the expert on yourself and your situation, and that you will help me to understand what you need and want. My training is also based in neuroscience, and I will share that with you in order to help you understand your wonderfully protective nervous system. We will tap in to your feelings, thoughts, and sensations to help you build the wellness and contentment that you deserve What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you? I would like you to know that you're not alone in your struggles, and you don't need to be alone in trying to improve your life.
