Hi there, Yo soy Delmy y hablo español! My name is Delmy Martinez. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in Los Angeles, CA working with clients statewide via telehealth. I work with adults and specialize in stress, anxiety, adjustment difficulties, family difficulties and interpersonal relationships related to immigration and acculturation issues. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy to help my clients address their difficulties, identify treatment goals and start feeling better and relieved. My approach My approach to therapy varies depending on the needs of each person. However, I frequently use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy as these modalities allow me to assist my clients in understanding their difficulties and finding ways to feel better. My focus Throughout the years, I have found that I work well with adults ages ranging from early 20's to late 70's. I have extensive experience doing therapy in Spanish and work well with both English and Spanish speakers. I focus on difficulties with anxiety, stress, coping skills, job difficulties, relationship problems, and general adjustment issues as they relate to immigration and acculturation for immigrants or people born in the United States to immigrant families. I work to help clients navigate the dilemmas and contradictions that exist living in a new country or in country and society that is different than that of their families of origin so that clients can feel understood, validated, relieved, and learn new ways to cope. My communication style My communication style is warm, welcoming, compassionate, and respectful. I understand that therapy can be scary and therefore I provide the support that clients need to establish a connection and develop trust.
