Welcome! My name is Debra Stephens LPC, BCBA. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Board Certified Behavior Analyst in the State of Michigan. I have worked in the mental health field for over 15 years and have experience in a variety of settings such as, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient program, home, school and community mental health agency. I have worked with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, stress, intellectual/developmental disabilities, life transitions, autism, personality disorders, and self-harm behaviors.

My counseling style is warm and supportive, and I embrace unconditional positive regard and non-judgmental stance toward all individuals. A main focus in my treatment is establishing a safe, trusting therapeutic relationship, which is essential for facilitating effective counseling and progress toward your goals. My primary treatment modality is Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), with a person-centered manner, and includes accepting ourselves as we are and working toward change. Working collaboratively with individuals on their treatment goals is a priority.
