I love helping people become their best selves. Many mental health problems stem from childhood trauma, and I think it is important for individuals to understand the roots of their anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or addiction. But I also believe that people can overcome these problems by understanding the connection between their thoughts, moods, and behaviors. This understanding can empower them to change negative thinking patterns that keep them stuck in the past and in self-defeating behaviors. I use Cognitive Behavioral interventions to help change these negative thinking patterns. I also use art therapy, solution-focused, and mindfulness-based approaches to help clients explore trauma and underlying issues, create solutions to their problems, and learn to live in the here-and-now. I became a counselor later in life, so I strongly believe in the adage “It’s never too late to become the person you were meant to be.” I want to help my clients do that.
