I began my private practice in 1980 specializing in hypnosis for stress and anxiety/panic via doctor referrals – later including other CBT and DBT therapies to treat trauma cases, anxiety, panic, phobias, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), grief, self-esteem and abuse, and more. My studies of hypnosis began with the Milton Erickson Institute. (Dr. Erickson, deceased, is still recognized as the Father of Medical Hypnosis), Dr. William Kroger, Drs. Simonton and Simonton, and other professionals. I also stepped ten years later into a mental health agency in 1989 as the CEO, and for the next 18 years and expanded services to individuals with a severe mental illness and/or psychiatric emergency services in Medina County. I now provide part-time consulting services for other agencies and hospitals. Thus, my clinical work has spanned more then 40 years. Patients of tell me that they have learned more in 2-3 sessions “than ever before.” Education begins with learning what you are struggling with, using your strengths, and how to use them with additional ways for your body-mind to heal. My clients tell me years later, they are still using what they have learned to resolve life situations better. They also tell me that my compassion, education, and humor has made “a world of difference” in their lives. The neuroscience is now amazing, and we are learning more about the body, brain - nervous system - and even the gut and how these organs have an impact on our health and/or mental health diseases. I believe strongly, that we all need to be mindful to learn and practice holistic health of body, spirit, and mind as well as traditional.
Because I also have a private practice, I will ONLY be working two days a week to meet with you, and answer questions. Those days are Wednesdays and Thursdays. Feel free to schedule on those days. FYI: Video and Phone chat is my preference for more effective and faster recoveries - and more "bang for your buck" than typing-reading/ thinking/ responding back and forth; it just takes up more of your time. Just a thought.
